You work hard. You train your ass off day in and day out. You are building muscle, getting bigger, getting leaner, and getting stronger. But remember, you are only as strong as your weakest link. For many people, the weakest link is their joints. If your weakest link is your joints, this can increase the risk of injury, and decrease athletic performance. Complaints of sore knees, elbows, wrists, and backs are far too common among bodybuilders, powerlifters, and weightlifters. When it comes to deadlifting (or any exercise), the joints take on a lot of stress, so keeping them healthy is one of the most important things you can do. Supplementation is one of the easiest and most effective ways to help protect your joints from the daily wear and tear of lifting heavy weights. Animal Flex is a supplement that I use to protect my joints and I highly recommend to anyone interested in protecting the longevity of their lifting career.

What is Animal Flex?

Animal Flex is a supplement designed to protect the joints, tendons, ligaments and connective tissue in the body. It comes in packs of eight pills and each pack consists of joint protection complexes, which are:

  1. Joint Construction Complex – to help repair connective tissue
  2. Joint Lubrication Complex – to help cushion the joints from lifting
  3. Joint Support Complex – to help promote rehabilitation and reduce soreness
  4. Essential vitamin/mineral blend – to underscore optimal joint health

Animal Flex is nothing fancy or flashy. It’s not something that’s going to directly make your muscles bigger or stronger. It’s not going to make you “jacked” or “shredded”, in fact, you may not even notice the effects of this supplement. But that’s the whole point. You don’t want to feel your achy joints all the time, so as long as you don’t have any joint pain, that means it’s working.

When I started taking Animal Flex, it took a while for me to notice the effects. I take it as a preventative measure and I rarely get joint pain. If I do, it’s usually gone in a short amount of time. As a sumo deadlifter it is important for me to have the hip mobility needed to get into the correct starting position. Using Animal Flex in conjunction with a mobility routine allows me to increase hip range of motion while keeping the joints healthy and strong.

How to Take Animal Flex

Animal Flex comes in a pack, which you only need to take once a day with a meal. It is a “core” or foundational supplement, so you can take it every day, both training and non-training days. You can also take it year round, no need to “cycle” it. If you are using any other Animal products, such as Animal Pak or Animal PM, it would be a good idea to space them out throughout the day rather than taking them all at once. I use Animal Pak and Animal Flex and what I do is take Animal Pak in the morning with breakfast, then take Animal Flex at night with my last meal. Animal Flex can also be stacked with any other of Animal’s products, which makes it a very versatile supplement.

Who Should Use Animal Flex

A lot of people start taking certain supplements as a way to deal with a particular problem or injury. While Animal Flex can help with existing injuries, it can also be used effectively as a preventative measure. It can strengthen the joints, which can prevent damage in the first place. This is a much more effective way to use any supplement because you wont have to deal with all the setbacks that injuries can cause.

Anyone who lifts weights regularly can benefit from using a joint support supplement like Animal Flex. As you continue to lift, the muscles get stronger much faster than joints, and even if you are not in pain now, there is a good chance it could happen in the future. Bodybuilders, powerlifters, weight lifters, and even casual gym goers can benefit from using Animal Flex. People with nagging joints, aches, and pains also might want to give this supplement a try.

Where to Buy

I always say the best place to buy supplements is online. You can find this product in pretty much any supplement store, but they are almost always overpriced. The best deal I’ve found is on Amazon.com. This is where I buy my Animal Flex and having Amazon Prime allows you to get free shipping unlike other websites. The price on Amazon (at the time of writing this) is $22.77 which will get you 44 packs.

Animal Flex is Awesome

I have been using animal flex for over a year and it has become one of my foundational supplements. It helps keep my joints strong and healthy and it can do the same for you. If you lift weight regularly, whether you currently have joint pain or not, I recommend giving this supplement a try.

Interesting post – I can’t say I’ve ever really been one for taking supplements… I tend to prefer allowing my body to deal with things naturally – recently, however, I seem to have been getting problems with my knee… knee problems seem to run in my family, but I’m only 27 and I’m a keen runner 🙁 I love keeping fit, and hate the thought of this problem getting worse!! Do you think this product may prevent further issues in the future?
    Thanks Zoe

Yes, as stated in the article, this is a great supplement for preventing future injuries. Especially with running having such high impact on the joints, this would be a great supplement for you.

    hi there,

very nice review about animal flex!i have been lifting weights for the last 10 years and i really suffer with my joints. I tried Clucosamine&Chondroitin; some months ago for about 2-3 months but i didn’t see any results. How long should i expect while using animal flex till i see some results?

    • Eric Radcliffe says:

Animal flex has both of those ingredients and how long it takes totally depends. I would say if you buy one, they come with 44 servings, take it every single day and you should notice some results by the time you get through the container

Awesome overview of the Animal Flex the hardcore joint support. Just recently I have noticed that my knees have started to get a bit achey from strength training and one of my friends actually recommended me this product. I wasn’t too sure if I should spend my money on it. After reading this article I think I should order some today. Thanks again!

Wow, I can tell you are passionate about this product. Your review of Animal Flex was in depth and very informative. Would this be good for most athletes who do a lot of strength training? Sounds like just what I need. I really like the pill idea because I am not much into drinking different drinks that are supposed to taste good, but in reality taste nasty. I appreciate you taking the time to share this information. Site is bookmarked! Thanks!

Wow I wondered how bodybuilders and regular gymgoers are often able to keep so limber and it seems products like this really help. Is the supplement natural and safe for women?

I definitely get very sore when working out and it can take up to 7 days for me to fully recover.

Thank you for this great review on Animal Flex. I have been looking for a good and safe supplement for my mom. I have few questions, though. Is this good for women over 60? My mom has joints pain. Are they any known side effects? The fact that the product is pills not powder is great, some powder drinks taste just awful.
    Thank you very much!

    • Eric Radcliffe says:

This product is designed specifically for athletes who lift heavy weight repeatedly, so if your mom is inactive, there might be a better product out there. However, Animal Flex is a very high quality product and the only reports of side effects I could find were due to a shellfish allergy. I think this product would be just fine for your mom to try.
